Welcome to the Breitenstein estate! Sited on over one acre of mature oak, walnut and deador trees, this estate is backdropped by the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. Built in 1928, this English Tudor Revival is considered one of Altadenašs finest treasures. Exceptional materials, such as hand-hewn beams and stone, are used throughout this 6000 square foot estate.

As you enter the two-story stone vestibule, you are transported back in time to merry England. The magnificent foyer is oak paneled, the floors are waxed fieldstone. A large stained and leaded glass skylight hovers over the wide oak paneled staircase.
The cherry-paneled living room is almost 1000 square feet. The massive Batchelder-tile fireplace is beautifully proportioned for this two-story room with cathedral ceiling of massive beams, the edges of which are hand-carved, goldleaf rope. The sailing ship at full mast depicted in the 12-foot leaded bay window combines hand painting, stained glass and relief.
The library, which also has a Batchelder-tiled fireplace, offers built-in corner bookcases with diamond shaped, leaded glass doors.

There are three generous sized bedroom suites upstairs. The master suite has a Batchelder-tiled fireplace and an expansive view of the pool and spa. The frieze beneath the mantels of all of the fireplaces was carved by an Italian artisan brought here for the specific purpose of executing the intricate woodcarving throughout the house.

The dining room, which is also paneled in cherry and the floor hand-selected butterfly oak, has a flower motif in the leaded glass windows.
With ample off-street parking, the entire property is gated and has a private, street-to-street driveway, lined by wrought iron fencing and an arbor covered in Wisteria, that leads to a carriage house above a four-car garage.
